Stay gluten-free with Flaxseed from Adora
A gluten-free diet is a diet that excludes the protein gluten. Gluten is found in grains such as wheat, barley, rye, and a cross between wheat and rye called triticale. From celiac diseases to gut inflammation and many other gastrointestinal complaints, many people are very sensitive to gluten. The great news is that Flaxseed is gluten-free and can play a major role in a healthy diet.
Sticking to a gluten-free diet can be tricky. We’ve outlined some pointers below to help you stay gluten-free while buying food for you and your family.
Things to remember when starting a gluten-free diet with Adora Flax
- Plenty of options – even if you eat lots of pastas, crackers or bread right now there are now lots of gluten-free alternatives out there. You don’t need to give up your favourites… you just need to be more selective about what other food or brands you buy. Flaxseed bread and cookies are also another great option and our customers tell us that making their own flaxseed bread is a great option.
- Choose foods that are naturally gluten-free – it’s not just Flaxseed oil and seeds that are naturally gluten free but you’ll find that all fresh fruit and vegetables, meat, poultry, fish, cheese and eggs are also naturally gluten-free. Planning your diet around these natural foods is a great start.
- Not all cereals have gluten – so many people think that if they go gluten-free, they must abandon all grain and cereals. To complement flaxseed, you can use a range of grains and cereal. Just remember to check on the labelling.
