Oil Pulling an aid to dental health

Oil pulling is an ancient Ayurveda Indian remedy involving swishing oils, such as flax seed oil, around in the mouth to ultimately strengthen the teeth, gums and jaw. It is also very beneficial for gum problems such as gingivitis and cavities, it is credited with whitening teeth, relieving sinus congestion, bad breath, reducing oral bacteria, headaches and migraines as well as having numerous other health benefits.

You will need:

  • 2 teaspoon’s of Adora flax seed oil
  • To reap the benefits of oil pulling, you should swish the oil around your mouth for around 10 – 15 minutes in the beginning – also gradually increasing this time to as much as 20 minutes with regular practice. Try to “suck” the oil between the teeth in order to reach all areas of the mouth and to remove impurities. It is important to NOT SWALLOW THE OIL! This is because you want to spit out the impurities along with the oil once you are finished swishing the oil in your mouth. After spitting the oil out, wash the mouth out with water. Brush your teeth as normal afterwards as there may be a film of oil left around your mouth carrying bacteria.

N.B. Do not spit the oil down the sink otherwise this can block drains; spit the waste-oil into a bin or a cup and dispose of appropriately.

Our mouth’s, the entrance hall for germs.

Our mouth’s are the entry way and home to billions of bacteria, fungi, parasites and viruses. These types of germs and their toxic waste products cause gum disease and tooth decay and contribute to many other health problems throughout the body.

Our immune system is constantly fighting these germs. If our immune system becomes overloaded these organisms can spread throughout the body, causing secondary infections and chronic inflammation. If there is any decay or infection in the mouth it can transfer to the bloodstream. From the bloodstream these microorganisms can circulate throughout the entire body and deposit in any of the organs they choose.

Gum health has been linked to heart health. Poor gum health may allow foreign microbes to infiltrate the blood stream and irritate arterial walls.

    How oil pulling works.

It is believed, that through this method of oil pulling toxins out of the body it is possible to heal individual cells because you are supplying the beneficial micro flora throughout the body with a healthy continuum.
It is believed that the lipids or fats in the oil pulls the bacteria and other debris into the oil detoxifying the mouth. The swishing and sucking of the oil forward and backwards in the mouth has a stimulating effect on the body s eliminatory system. It is important to do this oil pulling on an empty stomach, for example first thing in the morning. You can carry out this simple detoxifying process 1 – 2 times per day.

Try this simple flax seed oil pulling for 30 days and see do you notice the difference in yourself.

It should be carried out daily as part of your healthy routine if you are happy with the results.

You may notice a build up of mucus at the back of the throat in the beginning of starting this practice but

this is the body eliminating more toxins. You might also notice your tongue being whiter when it is

    eliminating more toxins.

As a result of oil pulling and the body reduces the amount of bacteria and toxins it stores in the body daily after about 10 days of oil pulling there has been reported an improvement in the participants mood. I suppose if the body has to spend less time fighting bacteria it has more time to be itself and return to its originally designed healthy state. (This is just my own theory)

    Enjoy the benefits.
